on lifelong learning

On Wednesday, I went to a lunch lecture about LGBTI patient care.  I was expecting to get advice on how to care for patients who claim a different sexual identity from me, but beyond that I ended up learning a bit more about sexuality itself.

Today, I went to a remembrance event for the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting.  In 30 minutes, I learned so much about a culture that was totally foreign to me.

It seems that I’m learning a lot more than basic science in medical school right now.  And I love it.
